About Janseva Pratishthan
Janseva was founded on 24 th April 1996 as a non-government organization with a mission of assisting the tribal population in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra in the field of education and rural development. In 2007 it extended its work beyond our home district. Our primary focus is on empowering the vulnerable section of the communty, more particularly the women, elderly and children. Janseva is thriving to enhance the quality and dignity of lives. Janseva GraminVikasVaShikshan Pratishthan, meaning society for rural development and education, is a development organization was founded with the central goal to bring women and the marginalised population into the center stage of local governance and development processes. Janseva is playing a key role as a facilitating organization opens up strategic spaces for participation.
We work with government bodies, international organization like UNICEF, Indo-German Watershed Development, NABARD and Azim Premji Philanthropic initiatives in various initiatives in empowering women, reducing the rate of school dropouts, improving farm practices and strengthening grassroots organization with a view to fostering sustainable development and improving livelihoods. We have been an active partner with NABARD in developing watersheds in Chandrapur, Yavatmal and Wardha districts.
